Jacobs-Kinsey JBT Scholarship Fund

The net income from the Fund shall be used to support the Jonathan Baldwin Turner Agricultural Scholarship Program in the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The Dean of the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences, or designee, shall determine the recipients, amount, and timing of the scholarships, subject to the approval of the appropriate University officials and in accordance with the existing guidelines for the Jonathan Baldwin Turner Agricultural Scholarship Program. a. First preference shall be given to qualified students from Centralia High School in Centralia, Illinois. b. Second preference shall be given to qualified students from Marion County, Illinois. c. Third preference shall be given to qualified students from Clinton, Washington or Jefferson Counties, Illinois. If no students from the aforesaid counties meet the criteria for receiving a JBT Scholarship, donors’ preference is that this scholarship be awarded to a student who resides in Southern Illinois defined geographically to be all counties which lie, at least in part, south of Interstate 70. d. Fourth, it is donors’ preference that the students selected to receive this scholarship be majoring in horticulture. e. Fifth, it is Donors’ preference that the students selected, in high school, have participated in an individual sport, such as golf, tennis, gymnastics, etc. Scholarships awarded shall be known as the “Kinsey/Jacobs JBT Scholarships” and shall be appropriately recognized and publicized.
