Buddemeier JBT Memorial Scholarship Fund

a. Unless otherwise directed by the Donor as provided for in paragraph (b) below, the Fund shall be used to provide scholarships to students enrolled in the College of Agriculture at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as a part of and according to the criteria, terms and conditions established under the Jonathan Baldwin Turner Agricultural Merit Scholarship Program. At all times, in awarding Jonathan Baldwin Turner Scholarships made available by the Fund the College of Agriculture shall acknowledge the W. D. Buddemeier Memorial Fund as the source. As a reflection of W.D. Buddemeier’s long and distinguished service to the University of Illinois and to agriculture in general, preference should be given in the awarding of the scholarships to students who, in the opinion of those responsible for the selection of recipients, have an interest in international agriculture. Further, preference should be given to those students who, in the opinion of those responsible for the selection of recipients, display a humanitarian interest in ensuring an adequate world food supply by helping others, such as those in lesser developed countries, help themselves. The scholarships provided by the Fund shall be awarded in accordance with the general rules and regulations adopted by the University of Illinois from time-to-time relative to such scholarships. b. The Donor may, from time-to-time, direct that her gifts to the Foundation for the Fund be used to support programs as established under the International Agriculture Fund which is held by the Foundation. One such program the Donor chooses to support through the International Agriculture Fund is an Annual W.D. Buddemeier Memorial Lecture series. Any assistance provided to a program sponsored through the International Agriculture Fund by the W.D. Buddemeier Memorial Fund shall be appropriately recognized as being supported by the W.D. Buddemeier Memorial Fund. In the event the Donor provides support to the Fund through her Will, this designation shall be considered a second priority for the use of the income from the fund and utilized for this purpose only as directed by the Donor or as may be decided upon by the appropriate University officials.
