Charleston/Orwig, Inc. Scholarship

The net income from the Fund shall be used to provide scholarships to undergraduate students who are enrolled in the Agricultural Communications Program, a jointly sponsored program between the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences and the College of Media at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Lyle Orwig intends to contribute annually an additional Three Thousand Dollars ($3,000.00) in his personal capacity which will be distributed as if it were net income from the Fund. Scholarship recipients shall be incoming freshmen or in his/her junior year of the program. Preference will be given to students with interests in pursuing careers in agency work. Charleston?Orwig will afford them the opportunity to experience a day in a job shadow opportunity. The Dean of the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences, or designee, shall determine the recipients, amount, and timing of the scholarships to be awarded, subject to the approval of the appropriate University officials. Scholarship awards shall be known as the “Charleston?Orwig, Inc. Scholarships” and shall be appropriately recognized and publicized.
