Reynolds Award for Excellence in Agriculture Journalism
The net income shall be used to provide awards(s) to senior undergraduate student(s) enrolled full-time in the University of Illinois’ College of Agriculture and pursuing a career in Agricultural Communications with News/Editorial Orientation. The award(s) shall be known as the “Gary A. Reynolds Excellence Award in Agricultural Journalism.” Students who receive the award shall be known as “Gary A. Reynolds Scholars.” Students who receive the awards shall have demonstrated excellent academic performance prior to their senior year and have the potential to be an outstanding professional agricultural journalist. Selection of student(s) who shall receive the award(s) and the amount of each award shall be determined by the Head, or designee(s), Office of Agricultural Communications and Education, College of Agriculture (or future academic unit providing the above stated educational options), in consultation with the Dean, or designee(s), College of Agriculture, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign campus, subject to the approval of the appropriate University of Illinois officials. The Foundation shall make available to the College the net income from the Fund upon request from the Dean, or designee, College of Agriculture, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. If during any year all of the net income from the Fund is not expended, such unexpended net income may be added to the principal of the Fund or may be accumulated and used as described herein in subsequent years.
