Walter and Polly Roesch Scholarship

The net income from the Fund shall be used to provide scholarships to undergraduate students who are enrolled in the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The scholarship recipients shall be selected based first upon financial need and secondarily upon academic merit. It is the Donor’s preference that the scholarships issued provide the greatest possible impact, and, therefore, fewer scholarships of greater magnitude are to be preferred over scholarships of lesser magnitude. The scholarships will be renewable as long as the recipients remain qualified and continue to satisfy all of the appropriate criteria. Preference in the awarding of the scholarships shall be given in the following order: First, to students from New Berlin, Illinois. Second, to students from Sangamon County, Illinois. Third, to students from the State of Illinois. The Dean of the College of Agricultural, Consumer, and Environmental Sciences, or designee(s), shall determine how the scholarship fund is to be administered, including such things as selection criteria in addition to those contained herein, award amounts, and award timing, subject to the approval of the appropriate University officials. The scholarships shall be known as the “Walter and Polly Roesch Scholarships”, and their existence shall be appropriately recognized and publicized as such.
