Curl Farms Scholarship

I hereby gift, devise and bequeath these forty(40) acres upon the death of the life tenant to the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana, Illinois, for use by its College/School of Agriculture, recommending experimentation thereon for soil conservation, grain and seed crops and organic fertilization, or , if the distance of the property from the University should make such use impractical, then that the proceeds of the rental or sale of said property by the University be used to defray educational expenses incurred by students from Shelby County entering the University, with preference being given to those applying from Ash Grove, Windsor, Okaw and Todds Point Townships of said County, for as long as such proceeds shall last. This bequest shall be referred to as an anonymous gift from a member of the University’s Class of 1919.
