Dale E. and Bernice E. Smith Mansperger Scholarship

The net income from the Fund shall be used to provide annual awards in the form of scholarships or fellowships to undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in the School of Human Resources and Family Studies or in the Vocational Home Economics Education curriculum at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign who have demonstrated merit in their academic studies. The awards shall be known as the Dale E. and Bernice E. Smith Mansperger Scholarships or the Dale E. and Bernice E. Smith Mansperger Fellowships, as the case may be. Subject to the approval of appropriate University of Illinois officials, the Director of the School of Human Resources and Family Studies, or his or her designee, annually shall determine the number of scholarship and fellowship awards to be made and the amount of each scholarship or fellowship award and shall select the recipients of the scholarships and fellowships. If during any year all of the net income from the Fund is not expended, the unexpended net income from the Fund may be added to the principal of the Fund or may be accumulated and used for scholarship or fellowship awards as described herein in subsequent years.
