Clyde L. Butler and Elsie Ross Butler Scholarships
The net income from the Fund shall be used to provide scholarships for undergraduate students enrolled in the School of Human Resources and Family Studies in the College of Agriculture at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The most important criteria for the awarding of scholarships shall be financial need. Of secondary importance shall be academic merit. If the school of Human Resources and Family Studies in the College of Agriculture ceases to exist in function and purpose, then net income from the Fund shall be used for scholarships for undergraduate students enrolled in one of the following curricula at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign regardless of the School or College: Consumer Economics, Dietetics, Foods and Nutrition, Foods in Business, General Home Economics, Human Development and Family Studies, Marketing of Textiles and Apparel, Textiles and Apparel or Restaurant Management. The Director of the School of Human Resources and Family Studies, or designee (s), shall annually determine the recipient, amount and timing of the scholarships, subject to the approval of the appropriate University officials. Any scholarships awarded shall be known as the “Clyde L. Butler and Elsie Ross Butler Scholarships” and shall be appropriately recognized and publicized. If the foregoing conditions cannot be met, then the net income from the Fund shall be used for acquisitions by the University Library at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In all applications of the net income, the Clyde L. Butler and Elsie Ross Butler Fund shall be appropriately recognized and publicized as the funding source.
