Fred Clute Memorial Awards

The net income from the Fund shall be used to provide an annual award to an outstanding undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences or in the Department of Crop Sciences in the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, who has expressed interest in, and evidence of commitment to a career in entomology in an urban or agricultural setting. The recipients shall receive a plaque, in addition to the award. The Heads of said Departments, or designee, shall appoint a faculty committee to determine the recipients, amount, and timing of the awards to be given, subject to the approval of the appropriate University officials. Awards shall be known as the “Fred Clute Memorial Awards” and shall be appropriately recognized and publicized. In administering the Fund, the Foundation may pay over to the University of Illinois all or part of the net income upon the certification by the University of Illinois that said net income will be applied by it in accordance with the purposes and restrictions designated herein.
