Tom Burrus Memorial Scholarship

The principal of the Fund will be held as a current use fund, as defined by University and Foundation policy. The principal of the Fund (“Fund Assets”) will be distributed to the University to be expended. The Donor or others may make additional contributions to the Fund in accordance with Foundation policy. The Fund will benefit the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (“Unit”). If for any reason the current functions of said Unit are transferred to another organizational unit of the University or the name of the Unit is changed, then the Fund will continue to benefit the Unit, as changed. The Fund shall support students in the Unit with demonstrated financial need. Preference shall be given to students from the state of Illinois, preferably from Sangamon, Morgan or Cass counties, with at least a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. One $1,000 scholarship shall be awarded each year until the gift is expended and the scholarships shall not be renewable. The University may determine all other details about the use of the Fund Assets, including, but not limited to amount spent, recipients and timing, in accordance with University policies and procedures.
