James Alvin Rogers Memorial Scholarship
The Fund shall benefit the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. (“Unit”). If for any reason the current functions of the Unit are transferred to another organizational unit of the University or the name of the Unit is changed, then the Fund will continue to benefit the Unit, as changed. The Fund shall support an undergraduate scholarship within the Unit. The recipient shall have graduated from an Illinois high school. The recipient may be a student in any year of their undergraduate studies and may include an individual transferring from another institution. Selection criteria may include, but not be limited to, high academic achievement, demonstrated community and civic involvement, and leadership skills./The Fund shall be held as an endowment, as defined by University and Foundation policy. The principal of the gift will be held in the Foundation endowment, and only a budgeted amount will be available for spending. The Foundation has established a related current use fund that will be used in the same manner as the Fund. The Donor may designate gifts to the current use fund, where all of the fund’s assets will be available for spending, in order to supplement the endowment income. The Donor prefers that one scholarship be awarded in order to maximize its impact to the recipient. The Donor also prefers that the scholarship award be at least $2,500, and shall increase in $500 increments as the Fund allows.
