Daniel W. and Edna I. Nies Memorial Scholarships

The Fund shall be used to support one or more scholarships for undergraduate students enrolled in the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in memory of Daniel W. and Edna I. Nies. Preference for this scholarship shall be given to sophmores, juniors, or seniors who are majoring in crop sciences or animal sciences in the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, from St. Clair County, Illinois. The recipient (s) should have at least 30 hours remaining in the undergraduate program in the fall when the scholarship is received and should have at least a 3.0 GPA (4.0 scale). If funds are available, more than one scholarship may be awarded each year, but it is the donor’s intent that each scholarship be at least $1,000. The Dean of the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences, or designee, shall determine the recipients, amount, and timing of the scholarship to be awarded, subject to the approval of the appropriate University officials and the restrictions contained in this agreement. Scholarship awards shall be known as the “Daniel W. and Edna I. Nies Memorial Scholarships” and shall be appropriately recognized and publicized.
