Orville O. Mowery Scholarships

The Fund shall be used to provide scholarship awards, to be known as the Orville O. Mowery Scholarships, to students enrolled at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, in accordance with the following criteria: a. The scholarship recipients shall be enrolled as full-time undergraduate students in the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. b. The scholarship recipients shall maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 (A=4.0) while attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. It is the Donor’s wish that each scholarship recipient be of high moral character and demonstrate a strong work ethic. c. Scholarship recipients shall be selected in the following sequential order: 1) Students who are residents of Macoupin County, Illinois; 2) Students who are residents of Pulaski, Alexander and/or Union Counties, Illinois; 3) Students who are residents of Montgomery County, Illinois; 4) If no students from the above five Illinois Counties qualify for Mowery Scholarships in any one academic year, then the net income may be used to award Orville O. Mowery Scholarship(s) in the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences’ Jonathan Baldwin Turner Scholarship Program. d. The Dean of the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences shall determine how the scholarship program is to be administered, including such things as amount, timing and selection criteria in addition to those described herein.
