Max L. and Sonja J. Jones Award

The net income from the fund shall be used to provide awards to undergraduate students who are not freshman but are enrolled in the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. It is preferred that the student is from a rural background, active in extracurricular activities and considering a career in research. First preference will be given to students from East Central or Northwestern Illinois- specifically the following Illinois counties: Bond, Bureau, Champaign, Christian, Clark, Clay, Coles, Crawford, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Edwards, Effingham, Fayette, Fulton, Hancock, Henderson, Henry, Jasper, Knox, Lawrence, Macon, Marion, McDonough, Mercer, Montgomery, Moultrie, Peoria, Piatt, Richland, Rock Island, Shelby, Stark, Vermillion, Wabash, Warren, Wayne, and Whiteside. The Dean of the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences, or designee, shall determine the recipients, amount and timing of the awrads, subject to the approval of the appropriate University officials. Awards shall be known as the “Max L. and Sonja J. Jones Award” and shall be appropriately recognized and publicized.
